Interesting facts
Recently it was reported that there was a small dinosaur discovered in Wales, which was about the size of a chicken. This dinosaur existed over 200 million years ago it has been called Pendraig which means chief . It was thought to be the top predator of its environment, although it was small it had a very long tail and was a meat eater. It walked around on two legs like a T. rex. Pendraig has been identified from four preserved bones a vertebra, parts of the pelvis and a femur or thigh bone. These pieces of bone were discovered in a limestone quarry near Cowbridge in Wales during the 1950s. These artefacts were looked at by the Natural History Museum, but some how they got lost and were mistaken for crocodilian remains. Then they were discovered and identified as Pendraig.
In 2007 we published a children’s book called “Kedrig’s Challenge”. It is a collection of short stories influenced by the area around Castell Coch in the village of Tongwynlais near Cardiff. They are fantasy stories, but in one of the tales called “The Rare Nest,” the little boy ,Kedrig, finds an unusual nest. He decides to take care of it. When the eggs hatch out, they are baby dragons and they immediately attack him. He has to run for his life.
